The most dangerous leadership myth is that leaders are born- that there is a genetic factor to leadership. That’s nonsense; in fact, the opposite is true. Leaders are made rather than born.
This quote is absolutely true! Even one who is recognized as a “born leader” had to be taught the characteristics of leadership. He/she may have been taught by their mother, school teacher, coach etc but it was a learned trait, not genetic.
Everyone hates to be labeled as a “follower” (twitter is the exception lol). Now I myself would refer to my mentor as the teacher & me the student.
Wether you know it or not , you are the person you are today because of the people you associate with the most. Describe all of your closest friends & you’ll see what I mean.
Before success comes in any mans life, he’s sure to meet with much temporary defeat &, perhaps some failures. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest & the most logical thing to do is to quit. That’s exactly what the majority of men do.
We have never failed at anything. We are not failures. I don’t believe in failure.
My definition of failure is QUITTING! We can only be quitters, failure has no power nor place in this world.
One will try & argue this theory of mine by saying one can fail in life by never having any goals but, I believe we all have an automatic goal at birth which is to GROW! Thats goal in itself.
It’s in our nature to produce the physical equivalent of anything our minds conceive, for if this were not true we could not conceive the thought in the first.
So with this being said, NO ONE can use the failure excuse anymore, if you don’t become what you want in life it’s because you quit!
Things that matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least.
-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
I recently was listening to a recording from Eric Thomas the Hip Hop Preacher & he says, “There is no such thing as procrastination, your priorities just aren’t in order.”
That makes sense to me. Just think about it. Instead of going to the library to do research on a business you aspire to launch, you play video games, go outside with friends, sit around & do nothing, or the game is on so you’ll write the paper for Lit class later.
These examples are not the cause of procrastination, they’re excuses, excuses for one who doesn’t care enough to do what is more important for their future.
I know sometimes you may not FEEL like tending to a paper for class or writing out a business plan but you must PUT YOUR FEELINGS ASIDE & discipline yourself!
Act as if you don’t complete a task to move you closer to your goal you’ll be punished for it, just as if you were at work & didn’t finish something your boss told you to do.
YOU MUST! or it could mean living in poverty for the rest of your life!
It’s fine to celebrate success but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure.
Sometimes we get so ecstatic over our achievements that we let up on the gas to look over our shoulders which potentially could cause a collision.
Don’t get me wrong, I understand how exciting it is to win a round but it’s not the fight.
Remember the hardship you went through to get to your current position… Never place more value upon success than your grind.
Errors are not in the art but in the artificers.
I’ve come to find that no craft is unfathomable, its up to the crafters ambition to fathom the art of the craft.
You must have a clear understanding that your goals are attainable, the only thing that needs to be questioned is your desire to attain them.
Human Progress is neither automatic nor inevitable… Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, & struggle; the tireless exertions & passionate concern of dedicated individuals.
-Dr. Martin Luther King Jr
Like the Doc always stressed; you don’t have to physically nor mentally strike back at anything or anyone to win. Keep your nose clean, keep your head up, & fight your own battles within yourself!
People will hate you regardless but they have to respect success.
Capital isn’t scarce; vision is.
A lack of revenue isn’t the cause of poverty, it stems from the fact that imagination is becoming distinct.
Don’t be scared to use your imagination, it’s bound to be original.
The future rewards those who press on. I don’t have time to feel sorry for myself. I don’t have time to complain. I’m going to press on.
Ask yourself this question: Are my problems more important than my goals?
I’ll answer for you; HECK NO!
Problems are meant to be solved, not to run lives.
PRESS ON! Don’t sweat the small stuff.
We can not solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.
In order to get something you’ve never had before, you have to do something you’ve never done before.
Remember, don’t make the same avoidable mistake twice.
You’re only a fool once.
There is no better than adversity. Every defeat, every heartbreak, every loss, contains its own seed, its own lesson on how to improve your performance the next time.
Never fear failure, its not considered failure until YOU decide you’re done.
Retool, reevaluate your performance and GO BACK IN!
You grind, you strive, to one day, thrive.
